A district showcasing the greenest living spaces in Dubailand.
Akoya Oxygen – now known as Dubai Hills 2, is a master development that contains residential luxury villas, premium townhouses, apartment towers on plots encircled by parklands, green open spaces, and private gardens.
Akoya Oxygen was planned to contain facilities around nearby courts that house a variety of functions, as health care, schools and nurseries, post offices, eateries, and neighbourhood retail.
The 18-hole golf course – designed by will Bob Hunt, contains two circles of nine holes beginning and completing at the halfway found clubhouse, hotel, driving extent and putting green.
A complete community planned around green infrastructure
Within the open space Parks Streetscape network, five key open space types have been identified: parks, streetscape, green roofs, nature trail, and reedbeds for wastewater management. Each space functions as a public space, provides an eco-system service, or both. This system of interconnected, functional open spaces forms the Green Infrastructure.
The multifaceted nature of Green Infrastructure allows to meet multiple goals in cost-effective ways. For example, open green spaces can serve both recreational and stormwater management purposes, reedbeds provide an alternate to the sewage system, and kinetic energy running tracks help provide sustainable bio energy.
The pedestrian system follows the landscape networks and street corridors, while green buffer and multipurpose trails will have pathways and tracks within them, surrounding the golf course and forming connection in and around the development. The entire development will have a wide public realm running along them encouraging pedestrian movement within Akoya Oxygen.
