An artificial topography as response to a challenging brief.
d3 – Dubai Design District is dedicated to developing the country’s fashion, design, and luxury sectors. It has become a world class creative community for the Emirates that promotes and nurtures local and regional designers.
The project master plan was conceptualized as an artificial topography and defined by a ‘draped fabric’ forming a cutting plane for the rooftops. This has been grounded in a landscape master plan that capitalized on the creek side location by utilizing a wetland landscape typology to tie the artificial topography in place.
